I am running OA (non AV) + A-squared right now. With this alliance I can run both at a discount :D

    Cheers.

Can we get a bit of nomenclature clarity: Ikarus or Icarus ??

I think that this is, with Comodo, the only real new in the security suites branch, and one of the best.

Totally agree here, even it I weren't at the discussions. OA is very good at what it does and A-squared is very good at what it does. Combining the 2 is a great idea. Avira is very good on its own and so is KAVs. Now we (the users) have some really good suites to choose from!

    Hi,

the pricings of all these connected products are err... individual.

    Ikarus Virus Utilities ~ $51
    a-squared Anti-Malware $39.95
a2 AM + OA paid Bundle currently $55.93 (regular $79.90)
Online Armor AV+ ? (with previous KAV Engine $69.95)

Related to the pricing of the Ikarus Virus Utilities I never got the impression that they are really willing to hit the end-user market, especially after they licensed their engine to Emsi.

Related to the pricing of the new Online Armor AV+ version I assume that it will be more popular priced than the old one.
Outpost Suite is currently at €49.95 (3 PC) or NIS at $59.99 (also 3 PC), that's a pretty fierce competition.

    Cheers

K this news cant make me wait any longer, hopefully this partnership will have OA guys speed up 64bit support a bit or giving it higher priority on the TODO list but i am concerned about resource usage and systemimpact

Ooh! An Austro-Australian combo :D ! That sounds real nice, and I might just give the bundle a whirl. However, I do have a question.

I'm pretty sure (correct me if I'm wrong) that the paid bundle will include real-time protection with both softwares. But how will the freeware bundle work? I know A2 doesn't normally include any real-time protection in A2 free, so will that change with the bundle? That is, when a user downloads and installs the freeware bundle, will they get the real-time protection of OA and A2 or just the real-time protection of OA (and only the on-demand scanning of A2)?

Sorry, I changed Austo- to Austro-; it was a typo  !

I currently run Mamutu with OA av version. Am I correct to assume that after the integration running Mamutu will be pointless?

I don't think Mamutu will be included as far as I can see so you'll be ok.

I hope the option for Mamutu to be included or turned on (off by default) is in :) That way it will have a Behavior Blocker + HIPS + Firewall + Antivirus + Antispyware + Satisfaction Guaranteed!

Err... a bit OT, but it's an Austro-Australian combo.
Funny thing is - Austro is used for both countries, like related to Austria - Austro-Hungarian or related to Australia - Austro-Malayan.
    That's pretty cluttering.

    Cheers

Google "Let Stalk Strine". An old book, but still a classic. :)

For me, the hardest thing about transitioning to 64 bit has been living without Online Armor. It was such an amazing product.

When will 64-bit be ready? I have a license, but can't use OA on my new computer. Many others are also anxious.

I have only one concern toward this alliance. That MAMUTU continues, whether integrated or separate, because AFAIK it's the "ONLY" real Behavioral Blocker that lives up to it's task as well as carries out a very useful purpose in a most efficient and S.M.A.R.T. manner while sharing the freedom for the user to at-will and on-command interact to make important decisions when an alert is raised. That is, utilizing the DENY option for users.
