Empty folder called dumps

    I run Windows 7 and I have an empty folder called dumps , can I just safely delete them?

    If there are no files then you can delete them. (Make sure to enable the view for hidden files first)

    It probably was created by an application you have installed. If so then it would use that folder to save it's dump file to if it was to ever crash. If the application is still installed on your machine, and it crashes then you may get some error when it attempts to create it's dump file. What path is the dump folder located at? Was it created recently?

    Check right-click properties, sometimes it shows invisible files.
