as far as i rember they wont release a standalone free version, you have to download the paid version and choose trial after you installed...

if i remember correctely after installing my emsisoft v5, it shows two choice of activating the product (i.e.) trail mode or free mode. i think in there website itself they said trail and free version are same. after trail mode it will ask to activate with orginal serial key you had purchased or it will ask to activate the free version.

ps: if possible i will try to upload the screen shots of that option screen. :p

Yeah I know. I'm hoping that they get all the bugs worked out by the time my OA++ expires in 8 months. :)

Trying this out now with DefenseWall. Seems to be running nice so far. The scans seem to take a long time.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware can be run in 3 different modes:

    1. Trial (30+3 days): full functionality, but time limited.
    2. Full version: if you buy a license
    3. Freeware mode: If you don't buy a license and let the trial expire, it switches to a scan & clean only mode (same features as a-squared Free previously). Realtime protection is disabled.

No, there are no advertising popups or such in freeware mode. Only the disabled features are linked to a website with ordering information.

Still a rocking antimalware program . One of the VERY few that have been consistent through the years . With the exception of False Positives . They have become less over time . This is a great program !!!!!!!!!!

This program is a gem. They done a real nice job on the GUI and it's very powerful. I definately will be purchasing at the end of my trial in 2 weeks.

Yep, very good product, light on system, very high detection rate and very good behavior blocker for 0-day malware.:thumb:
