Just within the past two days this strange problem started occuring. For some reason ekrn.exe keeps jumping to 80-100% CPU usage. Now at first it seemed random but then I noticed that it seems to be triggered by working in an explorer window. Just a few moments ago I tested this idea out and it proved true. When I opened an explorer window, located a folder, and tried to change a file name ekrn.exe almost immediately jumped to ~90%. After closing the window and waiting, ekrn.exe eventually dropped down to ~0%. I am running ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.0.437.0 I have completely reinstalled the program Computer: Make: HP Pavilion dv5 OS: Vista x64 Processor: 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory: 4GB DDR2 Video Card: 256MB nVidia HDD: 320GB Thanks in advance!
