The first time, I ran the duplicate file function, I was quite surprised to have so many of them.
Same filename, same bytes, only a different directory path.

Frankly, I didn't know what to do with the doubles or even triples.
I asked about it at forum SWI, but SWI crashed at that moment.
So I still don't know which one to delete without getting in trouble.
Maybe other members can answer that question.

And I also would like to know how that is even possible.
    Sloppy programming or what ?

In my opinon only, it's better to let sleeping dogs lie. Don't delete just to delete. XP in particular, with system restore onboard, used or not, handles and stores files it thinks may be needed.

    Better to play it safe.

I totaly agree with Ron. Don't even think they are there let Windows manage it self automatically. your worry comes because there is a program that shows them. same thing goes for registry cleaners
just an example. Do you believe that there are thousands (yes thousands) of useless folder/files on your system? dustbuster say so: DONT TRY IT IT WILL DELETE THEM WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.

    @ ronjor and hadi,
Thanks alot, now I know what to do with duplicate files : NOTHING.
Doing nothing is my favorite activity.

    @Mrkvonic,
I'm going to remove EasyCleaner, because I don't like the Kubrick-Kubus-like interface and the way it works. Some of these buttons don't even show what happens. I used it for a month and it never improved anything.

CCleaner does the same job and has no duplicate files function, which is very dangerous for typical users after reading ronjor's and hadi's posts.
So it's not a userfriendly software.

I find it very userfriendly.. I just don't use the duplicate files function as I've never seen a need for it. I use it to clean the registry and have for a very long time - it's never given me so much as a burp in that regard. I've used it to clean a few stubborn add/remove entries, and for some reason I really like the space usage function. I don't suppose that's something I need but I like being able to see what's taking up how much space and where :D

    Good app.
    Good support in the forum.
Has the loved "no installer" option.

But>>> dangerously effective; does exactly what you want it to do

    Regards

However I do believe the MajorGeeks Download is the latest version. But even if it doesn't have the latest blacklist EasyCleaner or isn't the latest program version, EC has a built in updater. ;) (screenshot)

BTW - Their Homepage is extremely slow

this is NOT Toni's page - these are people who snapped up his old homepage url (toniarts.com) upon expiration and are ripping people off using this young man's name. The link that Dog gave, on the other hand, is correct. You can see at this link the sticky post that reads as follows

The real disgusting thing is the con-artists at his old URL are even using his old picture in the "about me" section.

They sure aren't very nice people, are they - nothing short of criminals in my book.
