IME, NOD and F-Prot 6 give very clean uninstalls.

But you will not find any "Leaving nothing Behind".

I've found that Avira's products uninstall very cleanly. No files left, no registry detritus.

My opinion: AVG, NOD32. I've noticed the cleanest uninstalls with these products. Doesn't mean others uninstall bad though :)

    this forum is biased!
its nice to know there are still people like you here on this forum :)

lodore called you a troll, i can think of much worse ;)

    most av's un-install fine,
ive only had a few problems with bitdefender and norton in the past, but it looks like these have been fixed.

i know drweb leaves a few logs on the machine and keeps the drweb program files folder, as it contains your key after un-install, but not much really, so pretty clean id say :D

Re Dr. Web and NOD32: As far as uninstalling cleanly, both leave registry entries after removal. NOD32 leaves several legacy entries that can be deleted safely. Dr. Web will leave quite a few registry entries that can be plucked out. Not removing these will do no harm, but the purist will want them gone. BTW, this is not meant to be a slam against these products, just a statement regarding something that I've actually done several times.

Hi, folks: I personally do not believe there is ANY AV can be cleaned w/o traces lefe behind after a simple uninstallation. It all depends upon what other security apps one has in one's box. For instance, you may have startup control app, HIPS, program control, or even application control app, all these apps do have some hookings w/ AV. Therefore a simple uninstaller will not do a clean job, you still need some sort of registry editor to root them out one by one or perhaps by groups. No such thing as Easyone. They (AVs) all are pains on the neck in terms of getting rid of them.

:thumb: And If your able to do so, make a clean HD image, without any AV :)

Hi, folks: Of course w/ some exceprtions: several uninstaller application utilizing snapshot technology, such as FD-ISR, Total Uninstaller and Ashampoo Uninstaller Platinium etc. User may be able to clean up any installation w/o traces being left behind, but those procedures needed to be DONE right after app's installation and prior to the next new app's installation, otherwise a complicated step is needed to do the job. Again not any uninstallation is termed as easy as one click. Have a nice day.

I think most AV's do a pretty good job these days at cleanly uninstalling, even the latest version of Norton is a lot better. None I've used recently have left anything other than the program files folder and a few reg entries that Regsupreme removes without problems. F-prot 6, Nod32 and AVG seem to leave the least, IME.
