I recently installed a trial version (2011) of East tec eraser and ran the software. My computer (vista) has two browser installed ...Internet Explorer and google Chrome. The software cleaned up my internet explorer web history but the google Chrome (version  still shows all the sites I visited. For some reason the software thinks I don't have google Chrome installed, since it is only showing the Internet Explorer as the installed browser and list google Chrome (all versions) as uninstalled. Can anyone help?......don't know too much about Computers or software.

Check if East-tec shows the correct instillation folder for Google Chrome, If I remember correctly you can set the instillation folder for Google Chrome in East-Tec Eraser.

The latest version of East-Tec Eraser 2011 is able to detect Google Chrome 8. Please send us an email message from http://www.east-tec.com/support/index.htm with the exact version of East-Tec Eraser 2011 that you are using and also the exact version of Google Chrome, including build number (you can find this information from the Help menu, then About, in each of these programs).

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,

The default Chrome installer is a nightmare for all sorts of admin/maintenance reason.
Instead I recommend the Enterprise installer which installs Chrome for all users into \Program Files\Google:

I have east tec eraser 2011 installed and have the "shell" options clicked in preferences, but upon right click it does not show an option to secure erase with east tec eraser on files or recycle bin
