East-Tec Backup 2007 free

This software is offered free on giveawayoftheday.com. Has anyone used it? Or would anyone recommend it?

At first sight, it looks like a FILE backup software, something like the freeware Karen's Replicator, but more beautiful.
If it is one, then it's good for backup/restore of personal data, if it works of course.

 

Just tried it out, its a file back up program similar to the one built into windows except its more configurable. Just tried backing up some data to an external hdd. It took about 16mins to backup 2.7gb of data and compress it to around 1gb in size. Theres also an option to encrypt the data.

Probably useful for some people but as for me i prefer to make images of my hdd's.

I second that. Karen's Replicator is much faster. I posted a test somewhere about a full backup of more than 30gb in 16 minutes. It was as fast as ShadowProtect.

 

Yeh a bit slow i guess. I backed up onto an external usb hard drive using a P4 3ghz system with 512mb ram running windows xp.
