Easiest way to create aligned partitions now?

    I don't know if new (free) tools have come out, or perhaps gparted is up-to-date now, but what is the easiest way to created a 4096 byte aligned partition on a new hard drive?

    I use a windows vista install dvd (diskpart) to create aligned partitions for xp installs. Vista or 7 dont need alignment since the partitioner on setup does it automatically.
