DVD Recorder Problem, please advise.

Hi,

I have a Nec 1300A DVD recorder that i have had for about a year and a half, but all of a sudden (for the last month or so) on quite a few occasions when i try to burn a DVD a large scratch of varying sizes is present on the disk after burning it is going accross the disk from the outside in, usually about an inch or two in lenght.

The DVDR's are fine before burning, and im using Ritek Disks that i have been using for a year now with no problems. But like i say immediately after burning i take the disk out and this scratch is almost always present

Is there anyway to fix this or is the drive broken beyone repair.

I eagerly await some help on this
