Not worth the money. New users stay off this product.

Did your image fit on a single DVD or is it split across multiple DVD's?

    Hello ming,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We regret to inform you that current version of Acronis True Image doesn't support DVD RAM disks. You may create images to DVD+R, DVD+RW, or DVD-RW. The details of how you can create images on DVDs are described at Acronis on-line FAQ article.

    Thank you.

In what way do TrueImage 8 does not "support" DVD-RAM disks?

Do you mean that they don't work in TrueImage 8 or do you mean just that you don't support them?

I know that they worked excellently in TrueImage 7, as several of my customers use this setup. I was about to suggest that they upgrade to version 8, but am concerned now. In fact a new customer has just had me install a DVD-RAM drive in their machine last week at my recommendation, and am about to install TrueImage8 for them!

This is quite an important issue for me and certainly very urgent.

    Can you clarify.

    Hello xpcomputers,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We do not officially support DVD-RAM in Acronis True Image 8.0. It means that we cannot guarantee that you will be able to write the image to these disks and read them with Acronis True Image in case you succeed in writing the image there.

    Thank you.

I think Ilya means that they can't guarantee that TI will image "direct" to DVD RAM. However, provided that the DVD RAM recorder is detected by the boot rescue CD, I can't see why you it wont work if you use the alternative two-step method (i.e. create a split image to the hard drive and then burn the .tib files to DVD RAM).

    Regards
