    Hello,
    You mean the hardware, right?
If so, I go with NEC. They do their job well.

Nope. Sorry, maybe I should have put 'software' in the title? If some one with enough power would care to do that, that'd be great.

CloneDVD2 for movies requiring minimal compression, DVDRebuilder\IMGBurn for movies needing more compression. Nero6 for CD's.

Using Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.5 is intuitive and it does everything I need burning software to do. :thumb:

I used to use Nero (from v3 - v6), but finding it evolve into such a 'hodge-podge' of different programs from it's initial design intent (and more costly in the process), I started 'trialing' others. When I found ABS, I stopped looking!

    I have one "BenQ DW1640 CD/DVD-rewriter" and that's it.
I use the freeware "CDBurnerXP" after ditching Nero 6 and so far so good. :)

I used a free burning app some years ago and it was excellent, but couldn't burn DVD's. Can't remember what it's name though which is annoying because I'm sure it can burn DVD's by now - I'm getting tired of Nero and all it's weird audio/video/photo album crap, I just want to burn and that's it

Nero 6 and even Nero 7, failed a few times on my computer and I do all my burnings in an off-line snapshot, without internet and security softwares.
I just don't understand why Nero 6/7 failed to burn an ISO-file in such a quiet environment.
IMO Nero 6/7 are too bloated to do a simple burning without troubles.
CDBurnerXP Pro didn't fail until now and I used it more than Nero 6/7, since I'm interested in movies on DVD.

I too use Ashampoo, and it is really nice to use but I actually find that it's a little on the heavy side.

I use Nero 7 because it is so easy to make DVD´s from .avi files. It is a bit bloated yes, I mainly use it to burn .avi so I can watch them on my TV (Nero vision). ISO burning is very reliable too. But I can live without all the other features.
Only drawback is that it takes a couple of hours to to make three 350Mb avi files to DVD format. But I guess no other burning software can do it faster anyway?
