Why you could have just told me to go to the system 32 folder and open up the wbem folder and delete the repository folder, new to all this security lark.

what do you want a picture of?

the scanner is the same screen, the updates in this 'first beta' are mainly under-the-hood.

    Hi
Chris is correct, most of the improvements are "under the hood".
If you have an existing key, it will find it, and use it, however, use the "beta" key to get ALL the modules.
-The "Guard/HTTP scanner" works fine with no negative impact in loading web pages (at least on my PC).
-The "Parental Controls" does work effectively.

    Cheers :)

i dont care much for either the missing firewall which is still to be added, or the parental control that is added, i would substitute both of those for a proper GUI to be added.

and of course, we'd like a faster scanner too.

i dont think the HIPS module will arrive for release of this product, 5.1 i suspect.

ive already had many BSODs with this beta, and have already sent off the .dmp files for repair.

however, this is 'very likely' to be an incompatibility issue with Prevx Edge 3.0

How is it when downloading programs from the internet. When I was beta testing SpiderGate (old HTTP scanner from a long time ago) it corrupt the exe files.

that old spidergate was rubbish when in beta all that time ago, it was basically scrapped, even 'some' staff said it was discontinued.

    although, drweb wont admit this.

the NEW one, is what i like to call it, instead of the IMPROVED one.

    :D

    That is a BIG maybe.
I am running it with "Malware Defender" and (knock wood) no BSOD so far.
If I do get any, I will surely sent it off to them.
Now I am off to the dark side to test my doctor.

    Cheers :)

hmm yes it wuld be nice for dr.web to get an actual decent GUI, would be a nice touch. i liked that GUI pic that was posted some time back, but i wonder why it was scrapped.

    Hello,
    it hasnt been scrapped.
there wasnt enough time to implement the new GUI for beta one. the new GUI should be implemented soon.
