if resource usage is your main concern, then try these
    -dr web
    -f-prot
    -nod32
    -antivir
these are the known light ones..and may be avg,e-trust too
btw trial them and see,as each av differs/behaves differently on diff computers.

Yes I know. I recorded a shotgun firing sound from one of my games and used it - Darn cool!

    @mantra: I suggest you try Dr.Web :)

Is this a generic behavior that you get quite fast "bored" by something?
If yes, what your girlfriends saying to this? :D

Remember: AV programs are not underwear!

I don't understand changing AV's because your "bored" or how any AV could slow down the system you have o_O

Guess you could try ever single AV made, when you get bored of that try gaming , lots of games to take your mind off AV's :)

This guy is obviously seeking an AV that will keep him 'entertained'; he wants one that will sing, do a soft shoe shuffle and perhaps a few conjuring tricks as well!

If it also keeps out the 'bad boys', then that is a useful adjunct to his amusement!

maybe what he rele needs to clean up his pc, maybe thats why the AVs he tried feel slow. i use avast and nod32 on computers much slower than his and i cant feel their presence. as for kav i figured itd run well on his config. if he doesnt like any of the AVs already mentioned then im lost as i have no idea what AV could be faster and still offer great protection.

You want slow, I'll give you slow. Try Panda IS 2005. It has to be the slowest loading AV there is. On my machine anyway. I have a AMD Athlon 700Mhz, 512 RAM. Panda loads much slower than NAV 2005. Connection speeds are fine. It just takes forever to load. Maybe mantra can try Panda. Talk about being bored. He can take a nap while it loads. ;) :)

Yeah, I had a few BSOD's with it also. I just didn't care for it much. I think Panda Platinum 7 was a better product. JMHO.

Command Anti-Virus by Authtiuam or what ever that company name is. I wish they would get a different company name. :p :D

Light, effective. You will likely bore with it though. No flash what so ever. :)

Only problem with that is the reporting options, i hope someone can enlighten me, because I can only get the report file size up to around 82kb. I hope I am missing something, because it is an extrememly light/fast AV, as you stated. And the detection rate isn't to shabby either.
    ;)

The only report I care about is the scan result, did it make a find and a kill. Just me I guess. I have used others with their reporting. :doubt: No big deal to me. ;)
