    It will eventually happen IMO.

    For as long as the laws protect such rights, protective methods will continue to be tried.

    I agree that it will. None of these entities will be truly happy unless they're running all the shows on their own terms, whether it's good for the web and consumers or not.

    But what will this mean, exactly? As it is now, services like Netflix use DRM. It seems to me that this is just a standardized way to call on that, as opposed to doing it through Silverlight or other specialized app.
