    Hi All,

I am having severe problems trying to restore a DS image that I have taken of a machine.

When I tried using the DOS diskette I get as far as trying to connect to the network share, but no matter what username / password combination I use it never lets me map the drive, so I cannot restore the image.

So I cheated and installed a base image of Windows XP, then used the Snapshot GUI to install the image. It confirmed that it had done this successfully, but then the machine wouldn't boot and just hung at a flashing black cursor. Seriously confused and annoyed !

    Any help gratefully received !

    Thanks

    Fur

    Fur,

Can I ask a few questions as I'm confused?
Are you trying to restore the image to the same computer that was imaged?
Why do you need to restore the image?
    Where is the image stored?
What is the size of the image?
You said, "then used the Snapshot GUI to install the image". Did you restore the WinXP image to the WinXP partition from WinXP?
Do you have a WinPE or BartPE CD?
Do you have a USB external HD?
