    Can anyone who is using it check if they still use plain HTTP for updating?

    it is based on your license and their download wizard. Since my key is for the AV that is what it downloads.

    I think for the trial only the Security Space version is offered. Just carry out a custom install- see my post 13 in this thread. Further, the price difference between the two versions is peanuts.

    Doesn't bother me in the least.
    AdGuard and Dr Web are my staples.

    I wonder if it would be a good ideal for Dr Web to join teams with Kaspersky. I wonder if the developers would work well together to create a superior AV than each company already has.

    It was only in beta, might get released later but it's not included in the stable 11.

    However, since 11 has shellguard for browsers, i'm not really sure what does this safe browser do specifically. Time will tell i guess.

    Thanks to the new Dr.Web ShellGuard technology, the Dr.Web Process Heuristic behavioural analyser can:
    • Protect critical system areas from being modified by malware;
    • Detect and stop the execution of malicious, suspicious or unreliable scripts and processes;
    • Detect unwanted file modification, monitor the operation of all the processes to detect the actions that are typical of malware (e.g., encryption ransomware activities), and prevent malicious objects from injecting their code into other processes;
    • Detect and neutralise threats that have not yet been discovered and entered in the Dr.Web virus database: encryption ransomware, injectors, remotely controlled malware used for espionage and to create botnets, and malware packers.

    How it works
    • If it detects that malicious code is attempting to exploit a vulnerability, Dr.Web will end the attacked process immediately. It won't perform any actions with application files and won't move any files to the quarantine.
    • Users will also see notifications about a thwarted attempt to perform malicious actions; no response on their part will be required.
    • An entry about the disrupted attack is added to the Dr.Web event log.
    • The cloud will also be instantly notified about the incident. If necessary, Doctor Web specialists will instantly respond, for example, by upgrading the system monitoring routine.

    Salutations, Greeting!

    Thank you! For the response K_K!

    Hopefully in the future Dr. Web Security Space will allow Sandboxie to work correctly!:(
    Wonder why Sandboxie will NOT work.:shifty: And the need for Dr. Web to NOT let Sandboxie
    help as a layer in security.

    Kind regards,

    Good Afternoon! Curious about Dr.Web...the first curious question would be...I already am using NIS 2016...would it be compatible...or even needed...in my layered protection set-up? Sincerely...Securon

    If you are happy with NIS, stay with it. Not sure if you are asking whether to try Dr Web with NIS on the same system?

    IME, Dr Web generally prefers to run by itself and although it runs very light on most systems and has a number of "new" protective techniques, its lack of proper testing and its slow scanner are drawbacks. Stick to what you have ;)

    I have NIS and found it to get heavier after a few days. Honestly I think Dr Web, if tested would prove to be near the top s in protection. In my testing it is equal to the best. But it is up to each to find what works for them. But I will say this is the best Web yet.

    @trjam,

    Do you have any on demand scanners within your setup? With Dr. Web Security Space?
    And can you think of any con's?

    Kind regards,

    I use mbam for back up scanning and for dr web just the AV. Honestly I can't think of any cons, well one, wish the tray icon was green instead of silver.
