    Hello,
    I'm using NOD32 antivirus, Win7 64-bit.
When I'm trying to download files, mostly large video files, 99% of the time the download reaches the end and then either hangs ("few seconds..." forever), "interrupted", or "failed". This happens in chrome, firefox and sometimes IE9.
In NOD32's advanced setup, I set it up so that all engine parameters of all components have: "scan all extensions" disabled, "scan extensionless files" enabled, and the file extensions in the list are the default.
    I'm 90% sure this is NOD's fault.

    Please help!

    Thanks

    Hey Orengreen
I have been able to download the 439 mb avi file using Eset nod32 version 4.2.71.2 on Windows 64 bit platform running windows firewall . This is just a suggestion, but if you are streaming video, then it could be a problem with your firewall blocking for the download.

    Take care

    Hey Orengreen
The version you are using is a older version as you probably know by now. You can get a newer version ( 4.2.71.2) of nod32 from here :http://www.eset.com/us/download it could be that it is the solution. Bye the way, remember to have your username and password ready when you download nod32. And just a little hint do not install the new version on top of the old one, it has been giving me troubles doing it that way. Just my personal experience.

    Hope the best

It seems it wasn't NOD - I (temporarily) uninstalled it completely and tried downloading something - the same problem occurred....
    So I guess it's a windows thing?

In any case - I've seen this problem mentioned in this forum before, so I'd still like to know if there are any configs that will prevent this kind of problem with NOD.

    Thanks!

Can you please explain this hotfix a bit?
I didn't' understand the explanation in page and they do say: "...we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix", and this hotfix is from August 27, 2010.

    Thanks!

But as you say, the problem persisted even with NOD uninstalled.

What other software do you have running? Perhaps other AV software or utilities ?
