downloaded spyware blaster.....does it work?

hey people,i downloaded this programme around 3 weeks ago,have regularly updated it but the 1 question i have is how do i know its working?purely because i still have instances of spyware and there seems to be no reaction from this programme,there is no log of the spyware it has blasted!if i'm doing something wrong would someone please tell me or if i'm missing something completely in the operation of spywareblaster(i presumed you just let it work without doing anything)please let me know.thanks in advance for any replies!

 

It doesnt work in realtime and it doesnt scan for spyware.

It works by adding sites to IE's restricted zone, blocking cookies, and setting killbits for some activex.
