    Hi VC,

OK. It's just that the last post was from 2nd October last year until todays, and I couldn't see any mention of the current Beta in today's posts, that's all.

Right, I'll ask a developer if he has any ideas regarding our dear friends at Netcabo.

    Bandicoot. :)

I'd suggest that you ask your ISP for the settings of the transparent proxy server they use and configure NOD32 accordingly.

I admit that the NetCabo services isn't good, and I'm waiting to have a new ISP, but if I don't have any problem with other programs, the ESET server have some problem...

There are some known, similar problems with some specific ISPs. We think Netcabo's transparent http proxy is causing some damage to our update files.

The NOD32 update process behaves much like any normal http client and is as "standard" as any other similar software. We don't know what is making the difference with Netcabo, and until we do, there's nothing we can look at changing from our side of things.

The ideal thing would be to have contact with someone from Netcabo who has access to proxy logs, etc. and therefore might be able to see where the problem is occuring. A sample of such a 'damaged' file might give us a clue, but the problem is to get hold of one, since they are automatically deleted after downloading, when NOD32 finds out that it's damaged.

Some kind of network 'sniffer' log of download processes might help. But we will need the cooperation of someone suffering problems with Netcabo and who is competent and qualified enough to help. We have tried to contact Netcabo before (last year) without success.

VaMPiRiC_CRoW.... if you would like to help us here and can mediate with Netcabo, please send me a PM.

    Bandicoot.

I will wait for a reply...

If they didn't reply in one week, I will try by telephone...

Please send an email to support[at]eset.com with a link to this thread. If it's caused by a Cisco router at your ISP, a newer dll of the NOD32 updater with a workaround for how these routers behave should do the trick.

o_O What news? You got a new dll which should have worked around the Cisco issue, but I haven't heard back from you yet.

I had never heard of transparent proxies so I did a wee hunt on google and came up with some info...

    From http://www.tcpiq.com/tcpIQ/LineSpeed/Resources/Proxies/
It seems that some ISP's are trying to save bandwidth (money?) by forcing all of their customers to go through their proxy, wether they like it or not. Maybe changing ISP's is the solution...

    Hi everyone,

I found some of the same things in my log, so I thought I would post.

Can anyone explain why my threat log would be completely empty. I went to help file and it said there should be a list, but there isn't.
