When I plug in my Digi-cam to unload my pics.....I get the attached image...no problem....

A pal of mine used to get the same when downloading his photos....but apparently for some reason it no longer appears on screen....he can get to it through 'Explorer'...right click on his E drive etc.,...but any ideas please how he can get it back as was....

Just to complicate it a little, it only seems to happen after installing something!!??...

You're saying it doesn't "auto-play" anymore? But it is in reach, since he can get the pics with the explorer manually?
The software being installed must mess with some settings, somehow. What software?

 

Get him to plug in the digicam. Then using windows explorer, locate it and right click on it and select properties. Go to the AutoPlay tab and select "Prompt me each time to choose an action".

Hopefully this will solve the problem.

 

yes that's the place. But still the software is relevant, to see why that is unchecked after installation.

 

Thanks all....He is back as before.....After his light went on in the attic! ......He realised that 'Prompt before etc., wasn't ticked....When I asked him before he said it was ticked..!!??......He lied....
