I had to remove NOD32 due to problems caused by 0008 Now if I download NOD from Eset download site what am I going to get? Should I wait?

Whoops, I didn't get your question right. I don't know. I think the download was switched back to a pre .008 version, but not sure. There may have been a post by Jan or someone else about it.

I think you get build 6; refer to this thread: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=17666

Thank you Marti. Now I have another question. I removed NOD and was able to delete everything except nodshex.dll . That is the only thing remaining in the Eset folder. I believe that is the shell extension. If that is still in there will it cause me any problems downloading NOD?

Ah this is the thread from yesterday that confirmed that the NOD download from the site is an older version:
    http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=17741

Off hand I wouldn't think that the shell extension would create a problem since it's not an inherent part of the actual NOD program. But I'm just guessing really. I haven't gone through the process of an uninstall and reinstall with it. Perhaps someone else who has can comment.

I don't have an answer, but I'm brave and would remove the complete ESET folder and start over.

Well Marti , I went ahead and downloaded from the ESET download site. My computer blew up! I'm just kidding. Everything is fine. I guess. It is 0006 but at least I have Nod back.

    WilliamP,

Locate the following registry key delete it then reboot your computer you should be able to delete the dll file after that.

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\NOD32 Context Menu Shell Extension

Edit: Oops appears I was too late you posted while I was typing my reply. Glad you got things sorted out. :)

HimegaHertz. As I posted above I redownloaded NOD and I just checked and I'm glad that I wasn't able to delete it. It still works. The shell extention that is! Now I have to remember how to make it stop telling me to make Outlook my defalt E Mail client.
