Someone brought me a laptop to cure, which was very low on hdd. space (less than 5 mb free) + malware.

I tried ccleaner & TFC (by old timer) this did not help.

I then looked at 'computer' & the hdd. is approx. 80 GB. Next I ran 'disc clean up' I found the category, I believe 'windows error reporting' this contained a whopping 438 GB. I deleted 438 GB & all was fine.

How can error reports contain 438 GB (or report it) on a 80 GB drive?

Dr. Web Cure IT found & removed:

    Location.
    Instmon.exe Trojan.inject.55345
    Lexdef.dll Trojan.killfiles.8600
    Lxblcomm.dll Trojan.click1.63825

    Thanks
    Rico

    Hi Cundi,

How would those TR's, trick windows into reporting a full hdd.. Then how/why could i delete the 438 gb?

My googleing I did see some, reports some malware (not sure which ones) caused a disc to fill up with TEMP files, not win error reports.
