Does the entry node know my real ip address?

    I know each successive node knows the ip address of the previous node and subsequent node (i.e. the relay node knows the ip of the entry node and the exit node but the exit node does not the ip of the entry node), but does the entry node know the ip of the tor client (my ip)?

    Of course it does, it needs to communicate with you and so it needs your IP.

    Unless you use a VPN.

    But then, the VPN knows your IP address.

    There's no free lunch :(
