    OK --
I do not like the direction V3 is going. I have reverted to 2.7. I suspect, at some point, support for 2.7 will no longer be available. With that in mind does someone know of a good web site I could go to to look for a new AV product? I've tried Norton and was underwhelmed. Thanks.

best way, and ONLY way is to try all the trials, go to their websites and download them and try them individually.

what kind of features/performance are you looking for?

any special requests such as gui, etc?

I would just stick with 2.7 honestly. It is great and will be available for quite awhile. At least until Eset is confident with 3.0. Well that, and their customers.

I would go to AV-Comparatives to narrow the field then trial, trial, trial.

Has v2.7 suddenly become "bad"?you were happy with it before and its still just as good as it was!Why change from that?its not an unsupported product

I set out on this very road myself but before long came scampering back to the familiarity and comfort of 2.7:rolleyes:

I agree with the trial trial trial!! IMO, that's your best bet.

Some I think you should look into (trial):

    free:
Avast - Overall great detections and performance
Antivir - Awesome detections, lacks web scanning & nagging screen
Avg - Ok detection, very light

    paid:
Kaspersky - awesome detections, slowed down my internet (web scanning)
NOD32 - light, great heuristics Ok detections, still buggy (beta version)
Bitdefender - light, great detections, ugly interface and lacks customized install

Those are based on my experiences to date. Hope it helps :thumb:
