Opera 9 has anti-phishing supposedly, according to its site. However, I have never seen it do anything. I'm a safe surfer, but I just want to know that it works. Can anyone confirm?

Also, does anyone know of any kind of free security plugins for Opera, similar to SiteAdvisor or such? I know I don't need it, but I like having the security.

That's also new to me, and i am using Opera since version 6.x. Where on Opera's side is that written, or do they mean AP regarding the integratet Mail client for spam filtering?

    It's listed here:

    http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/security/

It simply says "anti phishing tech" not saying what exactly it applies to.

It has limited functionality .It can discern some address bar discrepancies ,and does throw a little warning popup. However its NOT as good as netcraft toolbar or similar.Heres a pic of phshing site (address blocked out of course) ,that shows the yellow lock embedded on the page (a scam) but in fact is not secure (see operas lock).

    In that case,
is there ANY kind of security/antiphishing toolbar or plugin that will function in Opera? I really love the browser, but I wish it had some plugins/toolbars relating to security. Know of any?

As far as I know Opera does not support any sort of toolbars( might be as an extra browser-security feature).

I dont know of any toolbars that work in opera. What you could do if you use opera ,is to put the custom "open in firefox" button on to your personal bar and have the netcraft toolbar installed in firefox.Thats the best that i can think of.Remember though ,that none of the phishing programmes are 100% reliable ,and can have a performance hit.I personally always check the sites header ,whether its https or not security certificate etc myself..That pic i posted is a valid link which i tried in opera today.Netcraft toolbar in firefox does detect it.But as you can see in the address bar ,its http and not https so its a very easy one to recognise.

The best anti-phishing I have found for any browser is common sense. Installed in all surfers, but not always activated or used whilst surfing.
