Does NOD32 AV 4 scan any TCP/IP traffic other than HTTP traffic on ports 80, 8080, and 3128 (I think those are the three)?

Here's really the underlying issue. I upgraded all of a client's computers from v2.7 to v4 and ever since are having intermittent issues with SIGNIFICANT sluggishness in an application. They are a payroll processor and the application is their enterprise payroll application (a client server app). I need to know if there is anything in v4 that would be scanning network traffic for viruses when they are submitting queries to their database through the payroll application.

Any help/ thoughts are sincerely appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

It could scan all the HTTP/POP3 , HTTPs and POP3s traffic no matter the port used

    Have a look at this:

If you use NOD32 v4.0 (not ESS) , play with the "Protocol filtering" options . Exclude from http scanning the applications which traffic is not needed to be scanned.

Additionally - you can run this tool on the machines with problem , exclude certain applications from being scanned <files and traffic> , try steps 3 and 4 (from here) , make sure Active mode is not enabled or downgrade to v3.0.684
