I found a site selling a download license and it has two download links. One is 32 and one is 64. The Bitdefender trial download is only an installer so maybe it installs what your O/S is.

Does it come in two different programs, x32 and x64?

Why not try the free version. Is there a substantial difference between the paid and free versions...?

With site coupons you can find it for $10-$15 sometimes.

I assume it has more layers of protection than the free version (I am not sure on this) and it allows you to be promoted for action whereas the free version can delete things on its own.

Yep. Common sense would suggest that there are "SOME" differences. I mean, I don't see how the exact same product could be branded as "free" OR paid...and the company expect ANYONE to actually PURCHASE the product.

    Hi nine9s,

    1. Here is the offline/full installer for Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2013 x86 and x64.

    2. Feature request for prompt for action. This has been asked for after moving from 2011 to 2012, 2013 and onward when they decided to remove many advanced user settings and focus on "Silent Security". This feature is still not present in the 2014 beta. I'm not particularly happy with this.

Response: "I have forwarded your request to our Product Manger."

    3. Read here regarding actions taken during on-access and on-demand scans. There is no prompt for action during on-access detection. User is given 3 selections: Take proper actions, Move files to quarantine, and Deny access. Details on approximately page 59 and 66 in the BDAV Plus 2013 user guide.

    4. Recovery added in case a file is inadvertently disinfected/deleted.
