Excellent news! :D Please us know when the update is released to fix it.

What was the problem? According to this thread in the K9 Support Forum, the issue is a conflict due to both programs using the same Transport Driver Interface.

    I haven't tried it yet.

I grew tired of waiting for a fix, so I tried Microsoft Windows Live Family Safety.

This has similar features to K9, but works fine with ESS 3.0.621 and 3.0.642.

I don't use these programs on my PC's but when my kids start using home computers that will change. I plan at that point still not using a PC application but an application on my firewall that will prevent inappropiate materail from hitting their PCs and from what I have seen it can be set by IP....this will solve 2 problems - first is the material and second is their ability to get around the PC application. I am by no means an expert nor am I an inexperienced user and if my kids are like me (and so far they are) they will hate the word "no" as I do. I am saying this because I learned computers in my early 20's but kids today are growing up with them and that means they by default will know more in the long run....

    An Example:
At my employer, management came up with the idea of locking down the desktop PC's so nobody could install applications... they even went as far as not letting us change the desktop and the one they choose for us was very annoying. It took me all of 30s to google and find a reg change so I could set my own desktop pattern bypassing the local and group security policies....management was very pleased  ...

at least if parental control is on the router, it is not easily accessed...

Setup a free account at http://www.opendns.com/

Nothing to install or conflict with your computer.

Blocks all sorts of categories and parental control type content.
