Yes I do. For the longest time I went with one, then, after reading how it could affect browser performance (slowing, that kind of thing), I dropped it. I never saw any truly better performance with it off (Avast 5), and honestly it didn't take long for me to feel uncomfortable without it. We can argue its effectiveness all day long, but it doesn't HURT security to use it, so, its back and staying.
Not sure about the definition of webshield. I use WOT on Firefox and I left the SmartScreen filters enabled on IE. I use MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) as my AV.
I use Prevx with SafeOnline. AFAIK, neither the Prevx anti-malware component nor the SafeOnline browser security extension checks the http stream for malware, so I answered No.
what do you say about intelligent stream scan feature of avast5's webshield? If its not collecting any data, slow browsing or hog resources much... I think its worth using it.
No i use a windshield Avira free doesn't officially have the Webguard as such But it has an excellent blocker built into ALL versions I know as it works every day to alert me to all sorts of malicious content in webpages, BEFORE downloading etc it
I am not sure if it is a webshield,... but I have SmartScreen filters enabled on IE 8, ...lurking in the background
