Never bother, they always seem to do more damage than good...At most I'll look on the OEM's site for new BIOS flashes and I assume they are security fixes.
No, not really. Don't laugh but I used Windows' Device Manager to update my firmware once. Needless to say......wrong-o. Don't quite trust Windows to get it right. I check the PC manuf. page instead, same for nVidia. Have only installed chipset drivers for Windows 10 so far, off manuf. page.
So far 'driver booster' only messed up one time, on a Bluetooth driver. Looked at Snail, I only had like 6 or 7, to update two were, 1.001 goes to 1.002, did not bother, did not see Snail offering restore point maybe it does. Sys restore should be able to replace drivers messed up by driver updaters.
By default SnailDriver does create a Restore Point before installing dtrivers. You can also use Device Manager to rollback drivers.
I only really update drivers if I really need to, sometimes things go wrong like today when I tried to install the latest AMD Radeon drivers. The install fails when the ACP binaries install fails, rebooting into safe mode & running DDU & then installing the previous driver went ok.
I like this Snail Driver, its the first utility of its type that hasn't ****** up my system on its use!
