The one on the left is actually the same one on the right, it's just transitioned differently for each monitor.

    The screensaver is called:

    Arabesque

    and comes with every Mac

As far as I know, it's just a Mac screensaver.

I have a few myself, I see no harm having them.

If you want good looking screensavers, This company makes some really high quality ones.

    my favorite is digitalblasphemy.com/

The best stuff isn't free, but it cost me $100 for a lifetime membership, and I've already gotten my monies worth. They are great an there are new ones almost monthly. Also there are dual and triple screen versions.

I like JPEG Saver. It has some very nice transitions.

just be careful with those screensavers.

i've tried a few of them were the CPU was maxing out.

might be worth checking out less you want to see smoke come out of your machine. ;)

Can't really speak for Linux, but deviant art has some really neat stuff if your looking for something to use on windows. I'm not a fan of the default screen savers for windows and third party screen savers tend pose an infection risk. I'm a big doctor who fan, so I asked a friend to design me an animated screen saver. Monitor quality is also something to consider in my opinion when decided on screen saver or no screen saver. If the rendering is bad, its just a unsightly resource hog.

The only screensavers I consider are functional ones like Avast's and MyDefrag's. Granted an idle background task will do the same thing, but on that note, why do people want screensavers when there's comparable fullscreen videos or games? Other than CRT owners, I see no point.
