Do u have new tricks to reduce memory of Firefox?

    My firefox v1.5.01 consumes lots of memory. I am just wondering if anyone of you there knows something new to at least reduced its voracious eating habits. :oops: :p :cautious: :'(

    I went back to 1.5 but you could try this.

    Type "about:config" in the adress bar.

    Right click inside the window and select new boolean.

    Enter "config.trim_on_minimize" and set to true.

    Now when FF gets up there with mem just minimise for a sec then maximise and it will dump most of it's mem usage.

    Watch the mem usage with taskmanager.

    Right now my FF is using 29 meg.Minimise and it' drops to 4 meg.

    Maximise and it goes to 13 meg but still climbs pretty quick as you surf so not really a fix,more a gimmick. .

    Don't forget you need to restart FF for the setting to kick in.
