I use Open Office, rather than MS Office -do I need to have DMON enabled or does it protect Notepad & Wordpad as well as MS Office?

I use Open Office , too and DMON is enabled .

DMON doesn't "protect" Wordpad/Notepad since DMON is for scanning with API , Wp and Np don't use API . DMON also scans ActiveX of Internet Explorer .

And even though you may not use MS Office or Internet Explorer as main browser , disabling DMON will do nothing . I mean you'll notice no increase speed by doing this so just leave it :)

DMON checks ActiveX files downloaded by Internet Explorer as well as MS Office documents.

Sorry but the second post (belongs to Blackspear) clearly states it protects Microsoft Office Documents :D Read Marcos' quote and you'll understand more :)
