Display Image?

Hi there,

Can’t display Image in Yahoo Messenger 9.0.02160, the windows turns black?

Can display avatar…….anyone having similar issues with Yahoo 9?

Tried all what yahoo support suggested like Java SE 13 FX, Direct X 9, MS Visual C++ 2008, MS Net Framework Package 3.5 SP1 but in vain....

*It's considered polite to let peeps know when you've posted elsewhere. Efficient in that it helps avoid posting duplicate content.

Now, this was suggested by Dermot from wackyb.com:

"Your display usually turns black if a) your display pic wasnt uploaded to insider.msg.yahoo.com properly, or b) you have Norton, Mcafee or another annoying anti virus blocking the connection/transfer of the image .. norton usually the culprit. You can double check using a display image grabber (unsakred.net?) to check if it arrives black on that."

1. Exit Yahoo! Messenger. Right-click the tray icon and select "Exit."
2. On your keyboard, press <Windows> + <R> to open the "Run" command.
3. Type in "inetcpl.cpl" and press Enter. This opens Internet
Properties.
4. Select the "Advanced" tab, then click the "Reset..." button.
5. Place a check on "Delete personal settings."
6. In the "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" dialog box, click the
"Reset" button.
7. When the reset is complete, click "Close."
8. Click the "Security" tab, then select "Trusted Sites."
9. Click the "Sites" button.
10. Uncheck "Require server verification (https for all sites in this
zone."
11. In the "Add this website to the zone" field, copy and paste the
following text:

*://*.yahoo.com/*

12. Click "Add," then click "Close."
13. Click "OK."

Next, for best compatibility with Yahoo! Messenger, please download and
install the following software updates.

1. Java Runtime Environment:

2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Runtime:

3. DirectX Runtime Web Installer:

Last, I recommend you reinstall the Microsoft .NET Framework. Here's
how:

1. Press <Windows> + <R> again to open the "Run" command.
2. Type in "appwiz.cpl" and press Enter. This opens "Add or Remove
Programs."
3. Select "Microsoft.NET Framework" and click "Remove." Repeat this step
to remove all installed versions.
4. Once all versions of the Microsoft .NET Framework are uninstalled,
restart your computer.
5. Download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. Get the installer

The image at last got displayed.

But does not change as easily as in Windows Live?

I have no issues with Avatars.

I agree that this was all needed?
