Disk Error with rollbackrx

    I installed Windows 7 after formatting the computer.Then had rollbackrx installed.It was working quite nicely since 10 days.But I am facing lots of problem today.

    When i started my computer today,the same old way rollbackrx console would come up at first before windows get download.But this time rollback initiated the defrag of snapshot which it does sometimes.Later when window restarted,it started a disk check.I let it happen.

    Further,I opted to rollback the system to yesterday snapshot since my window would show me the message that you window is not genuine.(I understand that i borrowed the disc from one of my friend since i had to format the PC on an urgent basis,I would be purchasing the license in some day).The PC would restart on rollback the same way it does.But again this time it would start with the same disk check by windows.This time I didnt let it happen and escaped it.The system started very perfectly.When I restarted my computer after certain period of time.I could see that same message of Window not genuine will come up(although i had disabled the option to take any update after the rollback occurerd.I am simply surprised if how could this happen.I started wondering if rollbackrx has automatically rollback to my current snapshot.

    I again tried to rollback the system,but again the disk check would come up.

    I would like to understand if there is something within the rollbackrx which is creating some error into my hard disk,by virtue of which windows is checking the disk everytime its restarting.

    Further,Is there any bug in rollbackrx where sometime it may rollback automatically to its current snapshot despite me rolling back to previous day snapshot.

    Note: I have windows 7 installed in both the partition i.e C and D.

    To the best of my knowledge Rx will not automatically rollback to a previous snapshot. That being said I would suggest you post your question over on the RollBack forum on the Horizon Data Systems website. Or better yet I would recommend that you contact Horizon tech support directly.

    There is one other option open to you and that would be to purchase a Windows licence, reformat your drive, and begin with a clean and recognized OS.

    I’m not totally clear on what you did but to me it sounds like something caused a problem and windows wanted to do a check disk. You allowed the check disk and then later rolled back the system. My guess is you rolled back the system to a point in time that windows thinks it needs a disk check – which you did not allow. So now every time you boot it wants to do a check disk. I would just allow the check disk and see what happens after that.

    If you still have problems do as BG suggested and post on the HDS rollback forum.
