I seem to read different information on here about restoring to a smaller disk.

I have a 100 GB notebook drive, all 1 partition with 16 GB data on it.
I want to clone to an external USB 120 GB drive,
then restore to a new bare metal notebook drive that is 60 GB.

Will ATI8 downsize to the 60GB drive?

Or, should I restore from a backup rather than a clone?

Lastly, is build 800 the most receint ATI8 build?

    Thanks,
    eeh42

    Hello eeh42,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Acronis True Image will let you clone to smaller disk providing you have enough space for data there. As for the difference between imaging and cloning please read the following article:

    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/faq.html#9c

The latest current build of Acronis True Image 8.0 is build 800. You can get the information about the latest builds of Acronis products at our site:

    Thank you.
