Last weekend, I tried to split the only partition my SATA harddrive into two. Using the wizard of Disk Director 9.0 #518, I set up a new partition of 40GB. But when trying to commit the changes, I receive an error message saying "Unable to write script". What's that all abouto_O

    Thank you for your help,
    -tom

    Hello Thomas,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Director Suite (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/).

We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

First of all, please download and install the latest build, which is available on our web site at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/. To get access to updates you should register your software first at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/registration/. Please disable any download managers, internet download/connection boosters, etc. before the download.

If the problem persists please download Acronis Report utility available at http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it, create a report and send it to support@acronis.com. This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Please also let us know what version of Windows you use and provide a link to this thread.

    Thank you.

I sent you an email last week and have not heard back from you. Did you receive the email? A link to the post was included as was a copy of AcronisReport.exe.

    Regards,

    Hello Andrew,

thank you for forwarding the email because I either never received it or it got stuck in a spam filter. I will addthe acronis domain to the trusted list to avoid the second option.

I downloaded the file you mentioned and installed it. When I received the error again (Unable to write script file), I installed the file again with logging enabled per your instructions. The report file is being sent to support@acronis.com with as an attachment for your review; the subject of the email is "Unable to write script file".

    Thanks for following up,

    Thomas

I should add that a "CHKDSK /f" revealed a problem as well: "Unable to lock drive".
