    Hi,

Just installed Disk Director Suite 9 for the first time and have not yet done any system changes because right now, none are needed but I *did* run through the interface to see what's what and I eventually clicked on each drive and selected "Properties"

On two drives with 6 partitions, on three of the partitions I got an Errors item which simply states "File System Error: Unable to create volume snapshot" and that's it. I searched these forums as well as the Acronis site but came up blank insofar as any info on what this is supposed to mean or if it is really an error.

My system is pretty stable and I have not noticed any problems before. I have Acronis True Image 7 and just upgraded to 8 but have not done anything with 7 lately nor with 8 yet. Norton Utilities and Windows XP Professional both fail to report any errors.

    So what does this mean?

    Thanks for the input,

    Kevin

    Hello kevinkar,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Director Suite (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/).

Could you please download Acronis Report utility available at http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe, run it, and create a report? This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Also please install the below update with disabled logging and see whether the problem persists.

    http://www.acronis.com/files/support/SnapAPI_s_e.exe

If the problem does persist, please enable logging by running the update once more, reproduce the program error message and send the c:\snapapi.log file along with the report you prepared before and the description of the problem to support@acronis.com.

Our Support Team will help you soon as possible.

    Thank you.
