I recently purchased a Sony laptop, and I believe that it comes w/ WGA preinstalled. A search for legit...dll turns up the file; however, I didn't see wgatray.exe or the other one. There were some WGA files though.

I don't like the idea of the WGA phoning home every so often. Is there a way to disable it?

    Thanks!

What does it mean WGA notifications? Does it mean phoning home?
I heard before MS has withdrawn WGA and then I see it again.

WGA notifications is that patch that (periodically) checks if your Windows is genuine and then nags you if it isnt.

xp antispy has an option to stop WGA checking if its legit at startup as an option under the network tab.
