    DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer
    Brief Description
    November 2008
The Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime provides updates to 9.0c and previous versions of DirectX — the core Windows® technology that drives high-speed multimedia and games on the PC.

    Overview
Microsoft DirectX is a group of technologies designed to make Windows-based computers an ideal platform for running and displaying applications rich in multimedia elements such as full-color graphics, video, 3D animation, and rich audio. DirectX includes security and performance updates, along with many new features across all technologies, which can be accessed by applications using the DirectX APIs.

Same here. The installer runs, tries to initialize and I get an error about being unable to connect to the internet and to check my network or try again later.

I've been trying for the last 3 days.

Glad to know that it's not my computer acting up when the web installer wouldn't download the files.

WHERE exactly do I extract the files to? When trying to install....I'm getting a pop-up asking me for the location of where to extract the files.

I have no clue and would appreciate some help in this matter.

    Thanks.

just create a random folder for the files.
then once extracted just find the directx installer and double click it.
once it has finished installing just delete the random folder.

The DirectX installer in the extracted folder is usually dxsetup.exe, just for your information :)
