    Hi ankupan :)

The "standard rules" set is a very basic one. It's mainly for users with only simple applications like browser, emailer and no other special applications.
To speak frankly, it's too much basic and the best is to used only the "Enhanced rules" set.

The "Phant0m rules" was developped by the user with the same name and gives a more detailled protections against some illegal/abnormal packets for example. It's a very popular rule set among the LNS users. The most recent set comes with an automatic configurator and it's available for few dollars.

There is also an other rules set be it's may be a lack of modesty to comment it and compare it with the other rules set. It's an experimental rule set for advanced users.
The version is available here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=174202

It's a long process to compare each rule from one set to the equivalent in the other and it's longer to makes some comparison between all four rules set since the position of a rule in the list is important:

This required understanding the element of TCP-IP protocols et you may start with this to learn more about what each rule is doing and why.

This is a good place to start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TCP-IP
    +
LNS documentation in the LNS folder
    +
    Many articles in the forum
    +
editing each rule and check it...

This is a big job, right? ;)

    :)

    Hi ankupan :)

Enhanced, Phant0m or climenole: all these rules set give you a reasonable level of security. The most important here is to understand what's you're doing...

    There's no magic or a "better-solution-in-the-whole-world" here.

    To paraphrase Bruce Schneier:

"Security is not a rule set, it's a process..." ;)

The enhanced rule set is a very good solution for beginning...

    :)
