The only toolbar I use now is the RoboForm toolbar, otherwise I think that toolbars is a waste of monitor screen.
    Best Regards.

For the first time in a while I installed a toolbar (yahoo) and in my personal opinion it does not take us as much space as older versions have. Then again last time I used one it was a really old version.

Most Toolbars are SpyWare/Adware all they do is broadcast everything you do, in turn slow down your machine, some go as far as to create AD popups.

Why do you think they pay to include Toolbars in different software, Its because they get paid to collect all of your data for marketing research ect, so where is your $check$ for giving them your user data?

people always say I don't have nothing to hide, but its not about hiding anything, its about slowing down your machine, and letting them get payed for their data mining.

But their are some usefull toolbars as chrisretusn pointed out, like lastpass toolbar, just don't get them confused, you mainly want to stay away from search engine toolbars, or the retarded ones your ISP tries to install when you use their installation cd to activate the modem, just activate the modem then do a system restore to get rid of all their trash. that's what I did lol

No! I hate toolbars. They take up space that could be used to display more of the page. I also agree with those that brought up the spyware aspect of toolbars.

No..Most of the time toolbars duplicate functions that can be done more efficiently by other parts of the browser or other parts of the Computer. Besides the points already mentioned.

Yeah maybe you are kidding , but the picture you sent looked like the IE browser on a computer I had to fix a short while back.
It was this guy and his kid of which neither understands much PC so they had just installed , installed , installed and installed without any real understanding of what they were doing. So when I opened the IE on one of the computers then it looked quite a lot like your picture. I was sitting almost grabbing my head.
Oh yeah ! , and I really hate almost all toolbars too.... (haven't got a single one on my IE browser , if not counting the annoyance "google search" top right...)

This is just so funny : so I go to webdesign10.com to see what the webdesign10 toolbar "buzz"/"fuzz" is about and I got shown the pop up seen on the screen shot shown below (and the darn thing continued popping up more times...)

Not all toolbars are bad like some think but most are plain useless. Worse still, some invades upon privacy 'behind the scenes' without you realizing it. Most of us here know those common names...

    Agreed to the max.

P.S. I'm very much 'allergic' to Ask toolbar especially...while I consider the others the 'lesser of the evils':p
