    Hello Forum,
Are there any good free defrag progams like there are good free AV programs. Or is it always best to buy.

I recommend JKdefrag also -- I use the command line...

    Start>Run>JkDefragCmd -a 9 c:>OK

The above defrags & aligns files according to their access dates (option 9).

Just like to toss in my thanks guys, the Topic author BadCompany and all the repliers so far.
With Ultimate Defrag i just haven't felt to bother with JK, but out of curiosity after reading your approvals/satisfaction with it i decided to D/L it myself. I used to be a bit turned by anything console, especially a Defragger, but this really looks IMPROVED.

With Pagedefrag, Contig and JKDefrag (to name a few) you don't need Diskeeper or Perfect Disk.

Sysinternals PageDefrag is integrated into the Weildraaijer GUI for
JK if you have it on your system. Very nice.

The best online defragger is JkDefrag :)
For offline I choose PerfectDisk, but it is not free...

I haven't yet, but I plan to, once it moves out of beta. I am very hesitant to try a beta defragger on my drives while it's stability and reliability are not yet established.

As for the defrag programs, I use Diskeeper Pro 2k7. It's not free, but I am happy with it's performance and it meets my requirements.
