Wasn't sure whether to put this question in Disk Mgmt or Virtualization, mods please move if necessary.

I have a system with a SSD. On that system I have a VM installed with another OS inside of it. We all know that we are NOT to defrag SSDs. But what about the guest OS inside the VM, should I defrag that?

    Thanks,

pretty sure you wont see any performance increase within the virtual machine so my answer would be 'no'.

what virtualization program are you using? if you are using virtualbox you can set the guest machine to see the virtual hard disk as an SSD

treehouse, thanks much for going thru all that trouble of posting that screenshot. I've been wanting to create a new VM anyway, now this really gives me a reason.
