I prefer the minimum number of applications on my computers. I know that there are a bunch, and some folks put a lot of them on their computers.

I always apprecate a freebie, but I wonder what it would do for me?
    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Jerry

yes you are right , but after i look at your sig , i see you arent using nothing like DW on your list (eg sandboxie,DW,bufferzone ,geswall family :D )
adding DW will be unnoticed at all , since it uses small mount of ram and cpu (and its free ;) )

    cheers

Plus it will provide protection from 99.99% of malware if used right.

Thanks for the comments. It almost seems like DW is about like a firewall, but evidently not, and does not conflict with firewalls like PC Tools Firewall Plus or the one on FSIS.

So I made a snapshot with AyRecovery and took this for a spin. I started a Firefox session not sanboxed (with paid Sandboxie) and sessions start about what they do not sandboxed as opposed to Sandboxie's seven to eight second delay. I should have tried a download. With Sb it is easy to have all the downloads recovered to the desktop. Is DW easy to set up for these tasks? I might install it again and run some more tests.

Installed it on my dad's XP Pro laptop. Should work nicely as a "set it and forget it" solution.

I don't want to crash the LOVE-IN, but DW was heavy on my hardrive. Version 2.56, or whatever the last before 3.0.

I think needing another HIPS alongside DW's is way overkill (for those asking).

Anyway. I am going to give 3.0 a whirl, DW is the least mind bendingly confusing HIPS out there. I liked it.

    How does the install work?
Is it possible to download it now, and install it after said period? Do i have to download it again if i want to install it in another computer?

    1. How would a defensewall + software firewall (outpost free or pc tools free) alone do as a combo on a laptop that is primarily connected to the internet via wifi? I would have on demand scanners for files downloaded. But can defensewall prevent privacy issues on wifi?

    2. As others stated above, if we download do we have to install before the end of the promo?

    The license does not expire; the program does not expire;
(no updates; no direct one-on-one support)

It can be installed at any time.

If you have a problem then contact Ilya, even if only one person has a problem he will want to fix that problem.
Dont forget it is still in beta testing so there are bound to be a few bugs still to sort out.

I wonder if it's compatible with F-Secure's Deep Guard.
I'd like to add it as an extra protection layer..

I did install it (2.56) with my current setup, so already had Outpost, MSE and SandboxIE running after reading in this post that it ran okay with SandboxIE, but I had trouble booting, Firefox took weeks to load (if at all), had trouble logging on and my machine took ages to shut down. Had to uninstall I'm afraid :'( .

    Hey demoneye!

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. I probably already have enough on there without needing Defensewall to be honest, just fancied giving it a try. I like the idea of the banking/shopping mode as I've recently been the victim of credit card fraud, but wonder if it conflicts with SandboxIE?
