DefenseWall & Firefox work well as long you install Firefox completely in one partition.

Once you split Firefox over 2 partitions by moving the folder "Profiles" to another partition, the combination DefenseWall & Firefox doesn't work properly anymore.
You get all kinds of little problems with Firefox, extension problems, ...

Once you remove Firefox as an untrusted application in DefenseWall or uninstall DefenseWall Firefox is back to normal.

I was tired of all these problems and installed Firefox back in ONE partition, because I didn't want to ditch DefenseWall.

What is your version of DefenseWall? Try the latest one- this should work this way, I checked.
