    DefenseWall 3.10 Freezing

    Hi,

A few days ago, I have downloaded and installed DefenseWall 3.10 BETA. It's an amazing product indeed! I am just annoyed by one thing: DW freezes Firefox and then my PC. I don't know what is causing it as I was just browsing and then all of a sudden, Firefox becomes unresponsive and Windows Explorer freezes. I can move my mouse but like I said, Explorer freezes and I can't hover or click on anything especially on the taskbar, resulting in an improper shutdown.

So I installed DefenseWall 3.09 and everything was smooth, and Firefox did not freeze. Now, they have released 3.10. I have upgraded my DefenseWall Personal Firewall from 3.09 to 3.10 a while ago and I'm back to my old problem: Firefox and Explorer freezing. :'( :'(

Please help and thank you in advance!

    At last! A reply! LOL

Well, good for you ViVek. There's something wrong with my computer's security setup (or maybe the computer itself and its prgrams) and DefenseWall 3.10. :ouch:

This didn't happen to me in 3.09. I have observed that 3.09 is much faster than 3.10, but security-wise, 3.10 is aggressive. o_O

I have posted the same thread in DW's official support forms, waiting for Ilya's reply. :cautious:

i checked the link to your setup.
maybe an incompatibility with EMET or NOD32?
also, try disabling BrowserProtect to see if there is any difference.
i doubt it but worth a try.

disable them one by one and see if there is a change.

    Hey moon,

My EMET settings are: DEP=OptOut, SEHOP=OptOut and ASLR=OptIn to ensure software compatibility, and I don't think there are compatibility issues between EMET and DefenseWall. See this thread. DW 3.10 should fix compatibility issues too.

NOD32? With or without NOD, DW 3.10 freezes FF and Explorer. I'll try to disable BrowserProtect and see how it goes.

That right there folks is one very good reason defensewall is a great piece of software. A developer that cares enough to solve one persons problem. Outstanding.
