    Hello,
You all know I'm not a fan of HIPS. But DefenseWall is becoming better and better, and with no popups and extra confusing messages, it's becoming more user-friendly. This product has a future to become indeed the most optimal HIPS-like product with good, effective protection aimed at the average user.
The new versions features several improvements.

Likewise, I read the review nicM and Kareldjag wrote about the product. They tested it heavily, and it gave pretty solid results.

Should we call it a HIPS?

    Hello,
Ilya calls it HIPS, so I guess we should call it HIPS too.

It is really nice work and good job.
I wanted to ask Kareldjag is it possible to do a comparison test of different sandboxes( even a short comarison test if not detailes) like Sandboxie, GesWall, BufferZone, and DefenceWall. That might be interesting to see but of course it needs much time and effort. I tried to PM him but his inbox was full.

Thank you, these tests were "heavy" indeed :D . But don't forget the version we used for the test is 1.40.

    1. Kareldjag tests only commertial and non-beta products, as I know.
    2. I was talknig with Adreas Clementi- he is going to make HIPS comparison tests autumn/winter.

By the way, to prevent misunderstanding on some test results, it is better to have a look at the presentation, and tests-methodology, before to read the actual tests :

Tests protocols are described from here :

I have DefenceWall and OnlineArmor and with DW running, OA never logs sites, because it doesn't see them. I used to go in and say trusted or untrusted or delete. Now I don't have to. I am really impressed with DefenceWall.

I have installed version 1.61 now and it indeed feels great... Maybe someone can explain here what DefenseWall installed means for other security apps like Online Armor. Do we need the last one when DefenseWall is installed, and Ewido for instance? Is DefenseWall the best thinkable app to replace the others? Or an add on for even more security?
