When a program is listed under untrusted it means that they are restricted (sandboxed). Therefore you should put your browsers, email, IM, and other internet related programs into the untrusted list.

Firefox.exe and iexplore.exe are install by default as "Untrusted" applications and they should be in blue color.

    Hello maddawgz,

FYI, the number that appears within the top, left-hand corner of the DefenseWall system tray icon refers to the physical number of untrusted("sandboxed") processes/applications that are currently open or running. For more information regarding DW, please refer to the following link below.

    http://www.softsphere.com/online-help/defensewall/

    Hope this helps.

    Peace & Love,

Is there any known conflicts with other security programs ?
Tried this a while back, liked it, love the concept and protection but if I remember correctly it did not agree with something on my system.
Damned if I can remember what that might have been.
New setup now so i'm wondering if this would add anything. Don't think i'm keeping avg as onboard.

Could you check out the recent build? In case it still have some compatibility issues- please, report, I'll find out what is wrong. The only conflict I know is with KeyScrambler, I've contacted its author and, hope, this issue will be fixed. Also, there could be some problems because of run out of process creation/termination notification slots if your security setup is huge (there are only eight of them available).

I will check out the latest build, thank you for your reply. :D
If I remember correctly the conflict did cause my pc to burp/hiccup if i'm wording this right, meaning the taskbar and desktop icons would disappear and reappear but with some missing. Also I kinda remember it doing something else maybe rebooting on it's own i'm not sure.
But i'll take a snaphot before install and if there are problems to much for me i'll just do a rollback.
Just another question Ilya Rabinovich if you would be so kind,
Is there anything in my sig that would overlap with Defensewall?
Or anyone else with an opinion on this.

    Ilya,

I really do think you should declare yourself as 'Ilya - Defensewall Developer' just to let everybody know you have a built-in bias for saying something nice about Defensewall :D.

OK, I agree. But the point is that it is not a "something nice"- my aim was and is to build a best sandbox from the point the balance of defense and simplicity, I wouldn't start if I were not sure if I can do this. Maybe, I was not very clear (English is not my native language, sorry), I meant that it is in neverending process of contraction to be the best. I don't know if it is now, but, in near future, it definitely will be it.

Looking back on the posts, I can't actually see any sign of Ilya being biased at all.

What I can see is an honest developer doing his best to improve his product, and being amazingly helpful and honest to its users.

Wish that there were more like him actually.

Yes, I know. It was tongue-in-cheek.

From a marketing viewpoint it's important to let the newcomers to Wilders know who Ilya is.

Include Softsphere in your sig and use the Defensewall icon - Mike includes TallEmu in his.

Promote the Ilya and Defensewall brands for free at every opportunity.

    My view.

I'm using DefenseWall myself, it's an evergreen, like Anti-Executable.
It's also very userfriendly and VERY QUIET, my favorite kind of security softwares. :)

Probably an "overkill"...But, installed DW to test/try...runs without problem in spite of SandboxIE and returnil....Using Opera just now in Sbie and in the same time DW has it as untrusted...No conflicts...Recommendable? Doubt it, but seems to work...

And in my view it's up to the moderators to moderate, not the members.

Oh and by the way Ilya, thanks for your totally unbiased help with those extra ini settings for SB's firewall ini settings.

I would like to say that DefenseWall is the best supported program there is as far as security programs. If you have a question,a problem or a concern Ilya will be on it. It will be handled.

    Chill out :D.

You have totally missed the point.

1984 has passed :p . There is no Big Brother (except in those pathetic reality programmes we get on TV).

OK, I've given you what you want!

    Ian (3 Defensewall licences)

Edit - PS Just had a thought. If English isn't your first language then I apologise as it would be easy to misinterpret my comments which were actually a come on to Ilya to start marketing himself on Wilders as per other developers.
